Mystic Island

“Yeah! Let’s explore!” Elinor said happily and followed Lizzy. If there was something she really loved, it was exploring. She instantly forgot all about her soaked clothes and hair.

Will shrugged "The pocketknife's not mine but we might as well use it." He said, following them.

Elinor turned around and looked at Will. She had totally forgotten to introduce herself.
“My name is Elinor, by the way,” she said smiling.

"Then finder's keepers!!" Said Lizzy as she explored the beach. "Lots of shells... and bananas!" Lizzy attempted to climb a tree but failed.

"William," Will said sticking out his hand for her to shake "But you can call me Will"

"Can someone help me climb the tree?" Lizzy asked meekly. "I haven't really climbed a tree before..."

Elinor took his hand, still smiling.
“Call me whatever you want, I don’t really care that much,” she said with a little laugh. Then she turned and looked at Lizzy. “I could try, but I'm not good at climbing.”

William nodded and grabbed hold of a branch and wung himself up. He then extended his arm to lift Lizzy up.

Lizzy grabbed his arm and pulled herself up. "Yum!" She grabbed a banana and started chowing down.

William continued climbing up the tree so he could look at the whole island.

“Hey, can I have one? I’m hungry as a wolf,” Elinor said, and on clue her stomach let out a loud growl. She didn’t want to climb the tree if she didn’t have too, and right now it wasn’t enough space for her up there anyway.

William grabbed a bunch of bananas of the tree. "Catch!" he shouted, tossing them down.

“Thanks!” she said. She only managed to catch one banana; the other ones just fell to the ground. But they were edible anyway, so she didn’t care. She just started to eat.

"Wonder whats next to that volcano." Lizzy said, thinking.

“I’ll go check!” Elinor said when she finished the banana. “Come if you want!”
And then she ran off in the direction of the volcano.

"Wait up!" There seemed to be a small footpath, probably made by animals over time. "Hey, check this out!" There was a small clearing. "This would be a good place for a camp." Lizzy said.

Will jumped down from the tree "Hey, wait for me!" he shouted running after them

Lizzy couldn't help but laugh at Will's running.

Will caught up "A path?" he asked

"Yup. Its led to this clearing." Lizzy said. "You run weird by the way."

William looked down at his shoes "Still got some water in them." he said, then looked up "But that wasn't why I was worried. I mean, what maid this path?"

"Animals over time. Theres probably a fresh water source nearby, so animals trampled over the same trail over time." Lizzy took her shoes off. "There's not too many stones here, so... not much problem with hurting your feet."

Will nodded but still wondered why animals would want to go out to the sand in the first place.

Lizzy thought for a minute. "Wonder when we are going to find other people..." Lizzy said, wondering aloud.

Will shrugged "For all we know, they could be hostile, cannibals, on the other side of the island, or worse non-existent."
